People love decorating their homes for Christmas holiday, but sometimes they want to move away from the traditional red and green decorations and take the home to the next level of home design.
Using white is a great way to achieve a modern look with your Christmas decorations. Decorate the tree with white balls, stars, tinsel, strings of white beads or crystals. Use white fairy lights to give a sprinkling of light to the look. Hang beads and crystals as shown in the photograph here, direct a halogen light to shine on it and you have created an amazing “sparkle” effect, just like iciles dripping water as they thaw.
Wrap all your Christmas gifts in white paper and decorate with a silver bow and place under your Christmas tree. Use white candles in your candelabra, white flowers with a little greenery in your vases. Make your wreath for the front door from traditional greenery but use white bows and silver accessories to give it a more contemporary look and feel.
The decoration remind us of a piece of art, stripping back the adornment and getting right back to the basic form of the Christmas tree. The black and white interior decoration works well and mirrors the exterior view, snow and bare trees. The form of the Christmas tree represents the essence of Christmas in this form of decoration and is more than enough to generate the Christmas theme and spirit. This is also an inexpensive way to decorate, that is if you are handy with timber and a paint brush.
You could do something similar using glass jars and fill them with nuts, glass bottles (fill them with dye and water and add glitter, make sure the bottles have lids so you can give them a shake). Fill some bowls with red and white striped candy canes, have some gold or silver wrapped chocolates in a ceramic dish, we’re sure you will think of more ideas.
