Rattan Chair By Kenneth Cobonpue

Comfortable rattan chair ‘La Luna’ by industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue is a real woven masterpiece, made of jute and rattan. Coponpue’s designs are strongly influenced by nature, and this chair’s wonderful round shape reminds us of the moon (la luna) perched in the shy. ‘La Luna’ chair looks equally amazing indoors or out – you really can take her anywhere! Simple and soft looking, yet full of spirit and texture, this chair is sure to attract some admiring glances wherever it sits.

La Luna reveals a simple, subdued charm that is equally suited for a poolside café as it is for a home’s veranda. The inside back of the chair has the texture of a jute bag, the kind containing coffee beans or raw rice, emphasizing the chair’s earthy quality. The textural variety is aesthetic and utilitarian, for the smaller ridges provide better spinal support.

Softly spherical and wonderfully woven, the chair has a strikingly simplistic aesthetic despite its texture. Great for both indoor and outdoor use, ‘La Luna’ rattan chair comes in a light, woodsy brown and a darker, almost-charcoal brown suited for a less casual mien. A crème-colored, soft polyurethane foam seat compliments the firm rattan that cradles it.

Kenneth Cobonpue has used jute and rattan to make the chair. Rattan splits have been woven into two patterns that seamlessly blend into each other, over an upholstered frame of rattan vines and wood. The chair has a dimension of D 75cm, W 77cm and H 72cm. The seat has a height of 47cm.

A work of precise craftsmanship and design, ‘La Luna’ can effortlessly float in any space.
